Macie swims!!!

Macie's first swim lesson with Miss Heather was at the end of June. She was pretty excited to get into the water until she realized that I wasn't. Miss Heather being wonderful like she always is, was so excited to get Macie into the water and start her on her great journey of swimming. Miss Heather started teaching Kaylee when she was 15 months and Kaylee is now swimming freestyle and learning the backstroke. Needless to say we love Miss Heather and the way she has with the girls.
Now Macie acted a lot like her big sister did on her first lessons, she cried, looked for mommy, and was pretty ticked off when put on her back. I have to say though that I remember Kaylee being a bit more unsure about the whole process then Macie has been so far. Here are a few pictures....

4th of July fun!

Another 4th has come and gone too soon. Again we started off our 4th at Schooner or later with friends. There were about 17 of us and we had a great brunch there. One thing was missing though........the sun!! I think this was the first 4th that I actually wore a sweater until after noon....

Kaylee and her Ashie

My lil Mays!! She is so stinkin cute!!

The girls.....Macie, Gracie with her fantastic 4th of July headband, and Kbugs!!

The whole gang at Schooner! Horrid picture of myself but I am takin one for the team ;)

After naps and me cooking some goodies it was time for us to head to Ahma and Papa's annual 4th of July party at their house for yummy food, 321 margartias, fun, and fireworks! This picture above is Mays with her Great Aunt Mimi...they like to play :)

After yummy food and some fun Maddy and Kaylee were ready for some movie time before the fireworks started. They are so darn cute together.
Kaylee decided a couple of days before that this year she did NOT want to watch the fireworks but that she was going to stay inside with her Ahma, so that is what she did. Maddy joined the rest of us on the golfcourse to watch the awesome firework show!!! We had a great 4th of July and an amazing weekend all together!!

Disneyland!!!

We kicked off the weekend of the 4th by spending all Friday at Disneyland with JC's family, well mine too now. ;) Aunt Leanne, Unce Mike, Cousins Richie and Jenna were here from Arizona celebrating Aunt Leanne's 50th Birthday @ Disney!!!! We had such a great time with everyone.

The whole fam (minus a few) at Disneyland
In line for Alice in Wonderland!

We took up a whole boat and Kaylee sang her way thru It's a Small World

Kaylee and her cousin Jenna!

The MOST HILARIOUS part of the day.....JC and Uncle Mike being left to ride with one another on Alice inWonderland! Even the other people in line were laughing when they came out!! Tears....

YAY! Pixie Hallow!

Ofcourse JC felt the need to take a picture with the PRETTY fairy...DORK! And I say that with love...

After chasing after Alice and the Mad Hatter we got a quick pic

Everyone after meeting in Downtown Disney for dinner. We were off for a couple more rides before the kids were totally wiped out!!
We had sucha great time at Disneyland with the family. Kaylee finally got to go in the Haunted Mansion but unfortunatly we didn't make it past the elevator part before she was crying to get out of there! THe Matterhorn will also have to wait for another time just because the line was waaaaay too long, Kaylee was NOT very happy about that.

First Day of Preschool Part II

Kaylee went through her first day of school like a trooper. Not one tear! She was sitting at a desk watching a Bug's Life when I walked in the door and she yelled "MOMMY! MACIE! YAY!" She was very happy to see us and went for her bags right away!

Kaylee at her cubby

Kaylee's first day of preschool!!!!

Today, Tuesday June 22, 2010 was Kaylee's first day of preschool. She is going to Bethany Baptist in Clark Ave here in Long Beach. Lucky enough my good friend Joanna's son, Madden goes there as well. Kaylee is starting out in their summer program going Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 - 1.

I think that this for me, was one of the most emotional days that I have ever had besides the two days that my babies were born. The thoughts of abandonment that run through your head are crazy. These babies heading off to school may be nervous and a bit timid of their new surrounds that do not include mommy or daddy but the level of thinking on their part stops there, I'm sure. Now for us parents, or for me anyways, I have had butterflies in my belly for days now, this morning I couldn't eat, and the overwhelming feeling to cry when I was driving home was out of my control. Does she think I am leaving her for good? Does she realize I will be back to get her? Good GOD it is rediculous the thoughts that were running through my mind. I am better as I write this but don't let me fool you I have been on the phone trying to get ahold of Ms. Jan to let me know how bugs is doing!

Kaylee in bed after I woke her up telling me she doesn't want to go to school
Eating her favorite pancakes for breakfast!!

Princess back pack and Hello Kitty lunch box....the best of both worlds!!

My BIG preschooler!!

What a big girl my bugs is. She was over the picture taking at this point

Kaylee's teacher, Ms. Gina! She is in the yellow room

She is so great. She wanted to go off and explore on her own.

She'll show em that she's not afraid. She just got right in there and started playing even before Maddy got there.

YAY! Maddy's here!

Time to line up and get the day started!

"We're in this together!" Kaylee grabbed Maddy's hand as they walked into the gym and it stayed that way. :) They are so adorable!!
Ok....so I just called the school to check on Kaylee and Ms. Jan (wonderful secretary) just told me that Kaylee and Maddy have buddied up and that she is doing great!! :) Again.....thank goodness for Maddy!!!
Preschool Part II will be done later today after I pick her up....

Our lil FISH!

Kaylee is such a lil fish! She has grown so much with her swimming since last summer, heck since 3 months ago. She is able to swim around and not have to have one of us right on top of her. She loves swimming and it is so much fun for JC and I to watch her and her hard work pay off! LOVE LOVE LOVE her!!

Father's Day in Palm Springs!

This year we spent Father's Day in Palm Springs! Ahma and Papa were there for the week and invited us to stay the weekend with them. There were ducks and jackrabbits roaming around outside on the patio the whole time so Kaylee and Ahma thought it was a good idea to feed them carrots and lettuce. On Sunday morning they were even treated to scrambled eggs and canteloupe....

Our lil family in the pool!

Kaylee and Papa in line for the waterslide there at the Marriott! Kaylee was "dying" as she says to go on it

Macie lounging by the pool with Ahma

Me coaxing Mays to look at the camera....she was way too interested in what sister was doing in the pool

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Nothing like a sunset in Palm Springs. I was able to grab a glimpse of it with the camera as we got on the freeway.
JC said it was the best Father's Day that he has had. We all had a great time and the girls took a 3 hour nap today to prove just how much fun they had. Macie even had to go down without eating her lunch....that right there tells you how wiped out she was! :)
Great weekend!!
